airport disco

Have any of you been to the Detriot airport?? I am going to baggage claim in a tunnel with a moving sidewalk that turns blue, the green, then red and plays the sort of music like in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in that psyadelic room! I almost forgot I was in an airport and thought I should have a vodka tonic in my hand in midtown!!! Seriously!!!

I have been there and somehow I missed that! I do remember the train way up by the ceiling that runs the length of the terminal, but not the disco tube. Pretty funny.

Oh - and on the shoes (from your last post)...I think you are right, that escalators are not more dangerous than they ever were. When I was in middle school I remember a friend telling me that her little sister got her foot caught in an escalator, but the culprit was not Crocs, obviously - tennis shoes! (they were untied and the laces got caught) Yes - amazingly Crocs are not the only kinds of shoes that can get stuck. They banned Crocs at Zachary's school because supposedy too many kids were falling down. Well, Zachary falls down no matter what kind of shoes he is wearing. They are little kids and they are clumsy - it's not always about the shoes. People just need to watch their kids no matter where they are or what kind of shoes they aer wearing.

Never been in the Detroit airport, but I think O'Hare or Dallas has something like that. It was weird and I was only in that part once so pretty sure it was Dallas. I remember Chicago as very bright, but it could have been an older section that had not been redone. Hope you get to enjoy the tunnel on your way back too!

Yeah, I have been to Detroit before and didn't remember that tunnel either but who knows!

And yes, I know about being clumsy....I had to have stitches in 1st grade cause I fell in class and hit my head on a desk or the floor or something...definitely clumsy...also broke a leg completely across from falling down one stair. I will have to take pics for you guys so you can appreciate the overkill! I never knew Crocs were so dangerous...then again, I only have the flip flop version.
