Does anyone else think that Bella Karolyi is really strange but in a really fun way? Did you see the other night when he was freaking out and yelling when they were watching the gymnastics. I am not sure that Bob Costas knows what to do with him :-) I love it.
And did anyone see the breakdown of Phelps' body? It is interesting, I guess, but someone spent time researching that and how would you like someone to tell you that you had the legs of a 6ft man but the torso of a 6ft 8in man, dinner plate sized hands, feet the size of flippers....and a flat backside (yes, they said that). It is weird...I wouldn't want that analysis of my body...gosh only knows what they would come up with, but I GUARANTEE that flat backside would not be one of them :-) (and I am glad)

Yeah, I got out my anatomy for the artist book at those measurements! He has an armspan THREE inches longer than his height - 99% of the world's HEIGHT is 1.169 times their armspan. His arms must be down to his knees. That must be why he looks so goofy...like a puppy who hasn't grown his paws yet.
I am sure he doesn't mind being thought of that way. After all, they start it by saying he has the perfect measurements for swimming. And he is picking up a ton of gold!
Also, do you think they had to make his LZR specifically for him since his measurements are so extreme? I heard they take something like a half hour to get into, but that may have been kidding.
I think they all get custom suits at the olympic level, if they're not sponsored by Arena or Speedo already, I'm guessing the US Swimming federation pays for them. I can't believe how much they are - $500, and you can ruin them easier than pantyhose because they're so easy to tear.
